Scar Revision

Surgery, traumatic injury, and in some cases, severe acne all result in scarring. When scars become disfiguring, unsightly, or painful, scar revision may be indicated. This can be accomplished with additional surgery, injection with a steroid (for keloids), or with less invasive treatment such as topical creams or chemical peels. Proper evaluation will determine the best way to improve your scar.

Most surgical procedures are performed under a local anesthetic in the office.  Smoking is not recommended due to potential healing complications.  There may be some instances where the scar revision procedure is covered by insurance.  Our staff will assist you in determining your eligibility with your insurance company.
