Tissue Reconstruction
Reconstructing the breast using similar tissue from the patient's own body can give some remarkably natural results. The non-lactating breast is mostly fibrofatty tissue and by using fibrofatty tissue from the abdomen, back, buttocks or thighs, we can achieve a more natural appearing and feeling breast reconstruction. These types of procedures are more extensive than the expander reconstructions and require a longer hospitalization and recovery. We offer TRAM and Latissimus flaps to those patients we meet the criteria and desire tissue reconstruction.
