Tanya Pfeiler-Galstad RN
Tanya Pfeiler-Galstad has worked as a nurse in plastic surgery for 15 years. "We are a team, and we want our patients to be part of our team and participate in their healthcare decisions. Health care has become a business. We want to change that. We want health care to be about taking care of you."
Biography
I graduated from the University of Iowa in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. After working for
nearly 4 years on a medical/surgical floor, I started my career as a plastic surgery nurse and have
remained in this postion for 12 years. During this time, I have presented at the Ninth Woman, a breast
cancer support group, and have attended the the national meeting specific to our specialty (ASPSN).
As a scrub nurse I have travelled to Nicaragua with Eduplast, a group founded in part by Dr. John Noon,
where I assisted in multiple reconstructive surgeries including cleft lip and palate repair and
reconstruction after severe burns.
Being a part of this practice is a culmination of everything I love about being a plastic surgery nurse.
From the time a patient walks in to our office, to the final stages of his or her reconstructive process, a
bond develops. This is something that we as a group hold in high esteem. This is the reason for
opening this practice – to offer men and women not only the best in reconstructive options, but also to
allow them to be an integral part of their own care and become a part of our group.
